Project K-911, an overview... Lexi, Audie and Lonesome were all dropped in a drop-box, sick and injured,
at a city kill pound with a "no adoption" policy. This means they had no hope of a second chance by adoption.
Their only hope was rescue. Thousands of dogs and cats suffer the same fate everyday. Project K-911 realized there needed to be a team effort involving as many
rescues as possible in order to save this large multitude of animals. And, thanks to the compassion of many dedicated
rescue organizations, many dogs and cats are afforded a second chance from death row.
In addition to Project K-911's
rescue efforts, Project K-911 photographs ALL of the animals at a kill facility, learns their stories, and forwards their
information to larger rescues. These wonderful rescues commit to saving these pets, and a second chance at life begins....
You may say, Project K-911 provides a link from death row to rescue, which sometimes includes pulling, housing and transporting
the lucky pets to their waiting rescuers.
Project K-911 also rescues the pounds' hard-luck cases, the cruelty
cases, and of course, from the streets. As we lobby for change in communities (please see our "News!" section),
the need is overwhelming -- and we need YOU! Please see our "How you can help" page.
We envision a brighter
day on the horizon for our animal friends, please join us....
